About an hour away from the Puerto Vallarta airport lies the sleepy little fishing village of Lo de Marcos. Nestled in the heart of the village, just minutes away from the pristine sandy beaches is Casa Botanica, a unique boutique hotel. The hosts Thora and Shawn Guthrie have artfully curated the furnishing of each room making each one a masterpiece of design and comfort. Sumptuous linens and lush plants abound. Toiletries and coffee are provided. The warm and friendly proprietors are happy to share with you information on local attractions, events and eateries. What a treasure! I can’t wait to go back!

Thora and Shawn’s airbnb was perfect for our trip. The space is beautiful and welcoming, it had everything we could ever need (bikes, surfboard, beach towels/umbrellas, margarita machine lol). You can really tell they put a lot of time into the space, the plants are stunning. The pool area was wonderful to relax by, felt like a little oasis. It is close to the beach as well as local restaurants, we were given a little guidebook for the area that was very useful. Thora was always so helpful with any questions we had! We will miss Thora and Shawn, and will definitely be back! Xo

This place is a gem! First time visiting LDM and we felt so lucky coming across this listing. We could instantly tell that there was a lot of love and intention put into this place. We came to visit as a part of our wedding anniversary celebration and didn’t want to leave. Fell head over heals for the town itself and having Thora and Shawn’s place as a jumping off point couldn’t have been more perfect. Endless gratitude for the hospitality. We hope to be back again!
