into a garden tended with love.

It started with a walk. Two women who had been friends since childhood  walking on their California beach, sharing their identical dreams  of spending their best last years in a small Mexican town. Not a tourist town. A place with a genuine pueblo heart, where life moves at its own unhurried pace and the ocean is close enough to hear.​

The following week, the two flew down with their husbands to see a run-down hotel they had seen online. It was worse than they expected, but it had potential and was in the most charming little fishing pueblo on the Nayarit coast.

As they stood in the neglected building, Katherine and Thora imagined their dreams realized.  They bought Hotel Julia! Suddenly, the two couples were owners of an unpainted, dark and termite-ridden hotel in Lo De Marcos.
